 Amici e collaboratori      U na delle personalità più importanti nella vita dell'inventore Rune Elmqvist fu sicu ramente   Åke Senning , che aiutò Rune durante la ricerca per l'oggetto e fu il primo cardiochirurgo a eseguire l'operazione per l'impianto.     Parallelamente, per il signor Wilson Greatbatch troviamo i chirurghi Gage e Chardack , il secondo dei quali eseguò l'operazione sul primo paziente.       Non si sa molto della vita privata dei due inventori, risulta per cui impossibile trovare presenze ulteriori di collaboratori o amici di importanza.  Fumetti      Trovare uno strumento come il pacemaker all'interno di un fumetto potrebbe sembrare una cosa difficile, ma in realtà conosciamo tutti un super-eroe che senza esso non potrebbe vivere: Tony Stark , conosciuto anche come Iron Man .       Iron Man infatti ha impiantato nel petto un elettromagnete che lo tiene in vita emettendo impulsi da 8 GJ di energia. Il pacemaker di Stark sicuramente è diverso all'aspetto, ma i loro funzionamenti mirano allo stesso risultato. Questo dispositivo può essere visto in ogni fumetto, film o serie creata, che sicuramente non mancano, contenente il nome del supereroe.
